What is Coming Up or Just Happened… 1) Lately we have been “WASLing,”(hooray, we are done!) but that is certainly not all that has been happening! We have been learning quite a bit about the world of economics, check-writing, applications, and choosing a career path. Junior Achievement (BizTown) has provided quite a bit of discussion and interest amongst the students. 2) In math, we are currently midway through Unit 10. Has your child shown you the Unit 8 and 9 tests? They were both on the harder end of the spectrum. Unit 10 should be a bit more straight forward, so expect slightly higher grades. 3) Artist Reports have been graded and passed back to the students. I was impressed with how well they turned out and with how students followed directions. 4) We will be starting a new novel next week. It will be “The Bridge to Terabithia.” Most of the work will be done in class, but there will be the occasional at-home piece. 5) FLASH will begin on May 6th. Other days of FLASH include: a. May 8th b. May 12th c. May 13th d. May 15th e. May 19th f. May 22nd Class/School Business 1) BizTown forms and money are due for a few of the students. These MUST be turned in by WEDNESDAY. Your child should know where they stand, as it has been communicated to them. 2) Thank you for signing the Friday Forms and Reading Logs. If you have not been receiving them, ask your child to show them to you. It is part of their effort grades. 3) The BizTown field trip is on May 5th (next Monday). Pizza is provided, but a sack lunch is okay to bring, as well. This should be a lot of fun! Your child will find out on Monday which job they will have for this trip. Thank you!
