Take the word  -apples-.  Write each letter on a 2”x 2” piece of paper

Put the cards in front of your child in random order.  Ask child to use the letters to spell:  Al, pal, lap, sap, ape, pea, sea, spa, slap, pals, apes, peas, lapse, apple. 

            Practice sounding out the words and look for blends and vowel sounds and you practice.  See if the child can come up with other words.
