The Newcastle Lions Chorus is comprised of students in grades 3, 4, and 5.   We strive for a membership of up to 75 student singers.   This year, however, student interest was so high, we now have a membership of 95 singers!!  We have a waiting list each year, so signing up early is important! We meet from 1:20 until 2:20 each Wednesday afternoon to rehearse our unison and 2-part songs.  Literature for the Newcastle Chorus is based upon our mission statement:  "Our mission is to become better musicians, to learn about styles of music from many cultures and countries, and to use choral music  to share the Positive Power of Music with each other,  the Newcastle Elementary family,  and the surrounding Community."

Our final performance for the year will be on Thursday, May 29th at 7:00 pm in the Newcastle Commons.  Please let your friends and neighbors know that this will be the first annual community performance right here at home for our Lions Chorus.  We are usually out and about in the surrounding community, but this concert is a big "thank You" to all of our supporters, and will take place right here in our own commons.  Singers should plan to wear their t-shirt and black slacks or skirts, and arrive no later than 6:45 in the Music Room.

After the performance, we will have our certificate and recognition ceremony, and share in a celebration reception before adjourning for the year.  Thank you for an outstanding year of beautiful music!
