Clubs and Activities at Newcastle Elementary School

• Book Club
  Advisor: Mrs. Gekeler
  Newcastle Book Club is open to all 4th and 5th grade students. Meetings will be held on Fridays during lunch recess. Please click here for more information.
   
• Jogging Club
  Advisor: Mr. Miller
  The Newcastle Jogging Club is a fall program running from late October to late November that wraps up by participating in the optional kid's portion of the Seattle Marathon on Saturday, November 28th. Dates of Jogging Club (Tuesdays/Thursdays): 10/27, 10/29, 11/5, 11/10, 11/12, 11/17, 11/19  11/25. For an application please click here to go to the P.E. website.
   
• Lions' Chorus
  Advisor: Mrs. Wood
  Chorus is comprised of students in grades 3, 4, and 5. We meet from 1:20 until 2:20 each Wednesday afternoon to rehearse our unison and 2-part songs. For more information about chorus please click on the club title.
   
• Lion Club
  Manager: Melissa Lally
  Our chapter of the district's School Age Care program provides activities for club members before and after school. For more information click on the club title.
   
• Math Olympiad
  Advisor: Mr. Neugebauer
  Math Olympiad is a challenging 4th and 5th grade math program in a team format. Students will work together on Friday mornings (8:10 - 9:10) starting in November to prepare for a competition in May 2009. Please visit Mr. Neugebauer's website for more information.

• Safety Patrol
  Advisor: Mr. Miller
  Safety Patrol consists of 5th grade volunteers (beginning in the fall) who demonstrate responsibility and respectful behaviors.  Students work on a rotating schedule to monitor student safety. There are occasional meetings to discuss strategies or share feedback. If you are interested in being a part of this team, please contact Mr. Miller and obtain the parent permission slip.
   

• Video Production Club
  Advisors: Ms. Keller , Mrs. Goddard and Ms. Hanna
  Club students meet on Thursday mornings. They work as a team to learn the basics of video production and write, direct, act, film, edit and publish mini movies.
