Summer Resources

  • BCC Summer Reading Skills Programs:  These classes meet once a week, two hour sessions, for about one month.  Class sizes are about 12 – 15 students per class.  The classes are taught by instructors from the Institute of Reading Development.  There are flyers about this program in the office.  Fee information for this program can be found by calling the number on the flyer.
     

  • District Summer School:   The district program runs for about a month also (7/7 to 8/1) and addresses reading and math.  Classes are about 22 students and the sessions are 3 hour sessions ( 9 to noon).  The cost is $350; parents also need to transport their children.  The program will be a Clark elementary.  If you would like more information please visit the district website – under the Parents section, then type “summer school” in the search box at the bottom left.  A flyer about the program and a registration form are on the website.
  • King County Library System (Newport Way Library) - Read and Lead:  This program is run by the King County Library system.  High school students will read to your child, read with your child, and help them improve reading skills through tutoring and games.  Click HERE for more information.
