MATH

Everyday Math continues to be our primary mathematics curriculum this year. In 5th grade, a number of concepts will be covered. Imbedded within each unit of study are opportunities for students to solve problems and communicate understanding.

A typical week will find direct math instruction given Monday through Thursday (between 75 and 90 minutes per day). Fridays are generally saved for math stations: games, time to make up unfinished Math Journal pages, and one-on-one teacher support for students who struggle with a particular concept and for students who require enrichment activities to challenge them.

The Family Letters for units we have completed or are currently studying are linked below. These letters provide valuable information about concepts that are covered within each unit and will hopefully be a useful resource for you.
