   01.01.2009 New asthma inhaler guidelines-the switch from CFC to HFA propellant requires re-learning the correct way to use an inhaler. Here are some helpful resources:

WORLD ASTHMA DAY is May 5th, 2009. This year's theme will be, "You Can Control Your Asthma". It is organized by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA), affiliated health care groups and asthma educators. Activities are organized in each country. The United States has activities planned.

04.01.2009 Handwashing Lessons! First grade students at Newcastle and Apollo Elementary Schools are learning how to wash their hands properly. Mrs. Sheffer is using 'GloGerm' simulated germs and the story, "Germs Make Me Sick" to teach students how illness is spread, and how to protect both themselves and others from communicable disease. Ask your first grader for a handwashing lesson!

05.07.2009 Swine Flu information is constantly changing. Individuals with flu symptoms such as a fever, headache, chills, body aches, malaise and cough should stay home and rest. Call your health care provider with questions. Here are some links to more information.
